I have used osCommerce and I find it very practical to use, easy and simple. I have learnt basic html by using this script.

Among all the solutions mentioned above i would single out Virtuemart. It’s free, easy to setup and has all the basic features. And switching to this shopping cart is not a problem as well.
If you think the other way just try cart2cart web service. It automates data migration from your shopping cart to virtuemart (www.shopping-cart-migration.com)

I am familiar with, and have used, OS Commerce, Zen Cart and WordPress eCommerce.
My current preference is with WordPress eCommerce

Some of the above I have never even heard of! Magento must be considered as a solution for the simple reason it’s not an add-on for Drupal or Joomla. It’s a fully functional E-Commerce tool in it’s own right! I wonder if osCommerce as moved from table based layout to CSS based yet!? Anyone know!?

While I am grateful for the link, I have to chime in here and mention that ecommr is not an e-commerce application. ecommr is a gallery of design elements of e-commerce sites that I hope provides some inspiration & reference for anyone who is involved in e-commerce design or user interface development.
