I was very touched and surprised to see that a three and a half year-old child will be taking part in the Telegraph Schools’ Chess Tournament! This is so sweet but also significant, in my view … With this brave example of very junior participation, let’s hope more educators worldwide will be encouraged to incorporate chess into the school curriculum when they notice that it is, after all, even possible to introduce chess as a subject for very young learners.
