New England Patriots player Sebastian Vollmer has already become quite a sensation although his team’s performance has been anything but disappointing in the last few games. Although the rookie has played only few games, he has been able to prove himself in almost each of the occasions. In the latest match, New England Patriots were defeated by the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday’s game by the score of 35-34.

The 25 year old player was brought into the team in Week 5 after Patriots left tackle Matt Light suffered from a knee injury. Since then, has been able to showcase his inherent talent and control of the game. The young player has given a tough time to veteran players like Titans’ Kyle Vanden Bosch and Dolphins’ Joey Porter, which made everybody take notice of this talented player.

At 6-foot-8, Vollmer is being considered as one of the most promising players of his team. With each and every match, the offensive tackle has shown such a significant amount of improvement that many are alleging that the young player might make Light’s return to the Patriots quite difficult. Bill Belichick, coach of the New England Patriots also praised the young player and added that Vollmer has proved that he can play in the position in a highly competitive fashion. At the same time, the coach also implied that it would be difficult to choose between the two players when Light comes back from the injury.

Sebastian Vollmer was roped in the New England Patriots in the second round of the NFL draft after signing a four year contract in the month of July this year. He had earlier played for the University of Houston.
