July 15th, 2009 DUBAI - India's Gautam Gambhir has moved to the top of ranking in the Reliance Mobile International Cricket Council's rankings for Test batsmen. Gambhir, who climbed two spots, has become the first India batsman in over four years to head the batting rankings after a failure by Pakistan's Mohammad Yousuf against Sri Lanka in the second Test saw him drop four places.

July 14th, 2009 MUMBAI - The Central Organising Committee (COC) of the 2011 World Cup Tuesday recommended that India should host eight of the 14 cricket matches that were scheduled to take place in Pakistan. The COC met here to provide the ICC Board with a recommendation as to where, within Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka, the 14 matches originally allocated to Pakistan should be staged.

July 3rd, 2009 LAHORE - Pakistan all rounder Shahid Afridi has said that Sri Lanka Test series would be challenging for the players, as they would have to change gear from the Twenty20 format of the game to the five-day mode. Afridi said players would also have to make adjustments due to the different and challenging weather conditions in Sri Lanka.
