Lahore, Karachi to host India, Pak wrestling tournament in December

November 8th, 2009 LAHORE - Welcoming Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor's suggestions of hosting India, Pakistan one-day matches in the US, the United States Cricket Association (USACA) has said that it is keen on hosting the arch rivals. The USACA's senior Vice-President, Nabeel Ahmad, told media persons over phone from Detroit that it would be a privilege to host both the Asian cricket giants.

The Uttar Pradesh wrestler clinched India's first medal in the prestigious event by defeating Alexandr Burca of Moldova on technical points, after the repechage round ended with both the wrestlers tied at the score of 7-7 on Wednesday night.

August 25th, 2009 LAHORE - The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has emerged as the first choice venue for the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to host the One-day International series against New Zealand scheduled to be held in November-December. Sources said the PCB is likely to host the series in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

August 15th, 2009 LAHORE - The Pakistan Cricket Board, as part of an out of court settlement with the International Cricket Council (ICC) on the 2011 World Cup hosting dispute, is pushing to host a Test and One-Day series against India in England. According to a PCB insider, ICC president David Morgan, during his recent meeting with PCB chief Ijaz Butt, assured to convince the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for the series.

July 12th, 2009 NEW DELHI - The Indian team bagged a gold and a silver medal on the concluding day of the junior Asian Wrestling Championships at Manila, the Philippines, to finish with an impressive haul of 14 medals.
