Sore wrist forces Reds 2B Phillips out of game

CINCINNATI — Reds second baseman Brandon Phillips has left the game against San Francisco because of a sore left wrist.

Phillips came out Thursday in the middle of the third inning.

Phillips was hit on that wrist by a pitch from Washington’s J.D. Martin last Saturday. He went into Cincinnati’s game hitting .260 with 17 home runs and a team-leading 75 RBIs, and flied out in the first inning.
