Obama’s day: Soccer, NYC date night with Michelle

WASHINGTON — There were no official events are his schedule Saturday, so President Barack Obama had plenty of time to devote to his other roles — father and husband.

The president and first lady Michelle Obama watched their daughter Malia’s soccer game in the morning. They stayed at the soccer field in the Palisades neighborhood, just a short drive from the White House, for less than an hour.

In the evening, the first couple are heading to New York City for date night.

Reporters weren’t allowed to see the soccer game. And there aren’t any details on just what the Obamas will do in Manhattan.

What is known is that the Obamas will fly on a smaller plane than the jumbo jet he usually uses.
