“The MENA region is enjoying significant economic growth and has a substantial unsatisfied need for refrigerated services. It is a key target in our global expansion plans,” said John Galiher, CEO of Preferred Freezer Services. “We are happy to find a well-established logistics services partner in Wared to help us introduce our services into this region and to serve our multi-national customer base.”
Initial warehouse facilities are targeted for Cairo, Egypt; Jeddah, Saudi Arabia; and Abu Dhabi, UAE; with longer-term plans for nine other regional centers. In addition, Wared Logistics will provide refrigerated trucking services in each region for delivery to ultimate customers, and global trade management, importation, and drayage services to the distribution centers from the Ports-of-Entry.
“We are pleased to be partnering with the premier provider of refrigerated services,” stated Brian McHale, CEO of Wared Logistics. “PFS has the best designs and operations, state-of-the-art systems, and a service-oriented culture. Wared brings the requisite support services — transportation and importation. Combined, this partnership is assured of success!”
Planning has already begun for the construction of the first two facilities. The first will be located within the Wared Logistics Hub in the Sixth of October City (Cairo) industrial complex. This will serve the largest population center within the MENA region. The second facility will be located in Wared’s Logistics Hub in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, adjacent to the Port. The Jeddah facility will serve initially as the gateway to the entire Kingdom and will eventually serve as the hub to other PFS/Wared facilities throughout the KSA.
