TORONTO - Redknee’s Airtime Reseller Enables VivaCell-MTS to Provide Voucherless Airtime Top-up for Prepaid Customers
Redknee (TSX: RKN), a leading provider of business-critical software and solutions for communications service providers, today announces that VivaCell-MTS (K-Telecom CJSC), the leading mobile operator in Armenia, has launched Redknee’s Airtime Reseller; a service that enables voucherless, airtime top-up for its pre-paid customers. In high-growth markets such as Armenia, voucherless airtime top-up enables operators to provide flexibility to its subscribers and reduce voucher distribution costs.
The deployment of Redknee’s Airtime Reseller will enable VivaCell-MTS to provide its resellers with the ability to trade over the wireless network with subscribers, providing sellable airtime that is purchased on the mobile handset, eliminating the need for retail vouchers or physical top-up cards. In a given scenario, a reseller purchases airtime minutes from the operator, and is able to sell this airtime to the subscriber through a voucherless mobile-to-mobile transaction.
“VivaCell-MTS is committed to providing Armenia with innovative mobile services. Redknee’s Airtime Reseller enables us to offer full flexibility to our subscribers, who will be able to select the needed level of airtime without being limited to any fixed denomination,” says Ralph Yirikian, General Director, VivaCell-MTS.
Through Redknee’s Airtime Reseller solution, VivaCell-MTS’ resellers can provide subscribers with top-ups in various denominations, starting from 50 AMD to 90,000 AMD (approximately between 0.10 cents and 250 US$).
“In high-growth markets, operators need to capture market share quickly to establish and maintain market dominance. The ability to offer flexible, value-added services such as Redknee’s Airtime Reseller will help operators to appeal to new market segments, such as cost-sensitive and low-income subscribers. Redknee is committed to innovative services and solutions that enable mobile operators to rapidly respond to subscriber needs,” said Lucas Skoczkowski, CEO of Redknee.
