PLEASANTON, California - Demonstrates Wireless Security and Interoperability
Trapeze Networks participated in the fourth annual “PlugFest” hosted by the Trusted Computing Group’s Trusted Network Connect work group. This was the third year Trapeze Networks has attended the “PlugFest.”
“The TNC PlugFest is where the rubber meets the road,” said Ted Fornoles, a product manager at Trapeze Networks. “Publishing a specification is important, but its true measure of success is to show that different implementations by several vendors actually work together. Implementing TNC allows an enterprise to protect network health, and as corporations deploy more and more wireless LANs (WLAN) into their infrastructures, Trapeze will help them maintain this level of security.”
The Trusted Computing Group (TCG) hosts the interoperability session to enable member companies using the TNC specifications to test implementations with TNC-based products from other vendors. The session is validation of interoperability in addition to providing discussion and sharing of best practices and experiences with the specifications.
PlugFest participants test hardware and software supporting the TNC specifications in a simulated enterprise environment, using more than a dozen test cases that model common enterprise usage of TNC-based systems.
TCG is an industry standards body formed to develop, define, and promote open standards for trusted computing and security technologies, including hardware building blocks and software interfaces, across multiple platforms, peripherals, and devices.
