LONDON - IRIS Accountancy Practice Solutions, the market leading provider of fully integrated software and services to the accountancy sector, has been awarded a major contract to provide Titcheners, the multi-office Thames Valley accountancy practice, with an offshore outsourcing service that will open up capacity and help the firm towards its goal of becoming a top 50 firm within the next 5 years.

Titcheners will outsource a major proportion of its bookkeeping, personal tax and statutory accounts work using IRIS Resourcing (www.iris.co.uk/resourcing); a comprehensive outsourcing offering operated from Chennai, India.

The contract was awarded following an extensive proof of concept exercise that involved members of the Titcheners executive team visiting Chennai, India, to thoroughly evaluate the IRIS Resourcing service.

The Chairman of Titcheners, Roy Ashton commented: “IRIS demonstrated a real understanding of our specific challenges and worked hard to show how IRIS Resourcing can benefit Titcheners by providing an efficient service that is both cost-effective and reliable.” Roy went on to say that: “Although this marks a departure from Titcheners’ core business activities, in view of the economic downturn and in order to fully service the SME market, we consider that an outsourcing project of this nature should be an essential part of any firm’s strategy to minimise costs for the client.”

Accountancy practices can choose between two methods; outsourcing or insourcing or opt for a combination of both as in the case of Titcheners. Outsourcing involves all documents being scanned into a secure portal, collected and worked on by the IRIS team in Chennai and delivered back to the portal. Insourcing uses secure technology to allow the Chennai team to log into the customer’s system and complete the work as if in the same office. This method has the added benefit of lengthening the business day by 4 and a half hours and utilises the computer system at quiet times.
