BRISBANE, Australia -
Strategic Airlines (”Strategic”) has become the newest operator in the domestic and international market after being awarded its Australian Air Operators Certificate (AOC) by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority today.
The new airline can now launch commercial operations using its recently acquired Airbus A330-200, which arrived on Australian soil earlier this year. This major achievement comes only a month after Strategic received its French Air Operators Certificate, signifying the commencement of its Airbus A320 operations in Europe.
According to Strategic’s Executive Director, Mr. Michael James, the finalisation of both AOCs in Australia and Europe, places Strategic in a strong position to carve its niche in both the domestic and international marketplaces.
“Being awarded our Australian Air Operators Certificate heralds an exciting new phase in Strategic’s growth” said Mr. James.
“This AOC is the culmination of a concerted group effort by our dedicated team, and we are very proud of the result. All of our people have worked tirelessly over the past 12 months, and it has certainly paid off,” he said.
Strategic’s Australian operations will primarily utilise the Airbus A330-200 to service an Australian Defence Force contract. The Airline expects to add a further two Airbus A320 aircraft to the Australian AOC later this year, one of which will be used to operate the air service between Perth and Derby in far north Western Australia, which is regulated under a licence agreement issued by the State government.
“The attainment of this AOC means that the Strategic fleet is now fully operational. We are a premium operator, and our aircraft are available for ad-hoc charter, ACMI lease and AOG coverage,” said Mr. James.
“We are also exploring other selective market opportunities in Australia and overseas” he said.
