LONDON - Bounty Launches Back to Work Help for Mums
Research from Bounty (www.bounty.com/), the UK’s
favourite parenting club has highlighted that mums returning to work require
more information and support in negotiating the challenges of childcare and
flexible working
(www.bounty.com/back-to-work/work-rights/flexible-working.asp).
A study of 3,000 working mums showed that a third felt that
their employers ‘turned against them’ on returning to work from maternity
leave and almost one in five said they were demoted without warning. Half of
the women polled said having a baby has had a negative effect on their
career.
Parenting Spokesperson and working mum, Faye Mingo of Bounty,
said: “Not enough flexibility is offered to mums to help them balance family
and work commitments. Going back to work

mums have battled with their priorities to return so should be offered
respect and support from their employers for doing so. Mums often work harder
than ever before when they return to work as they are afraid to be seen as
‘part timers’ and are keen to prove to colleagues that they are just as
capable as they were before.

mums returning to work, this type of information isn’t available,” added Faye
Mingo. “Mums don’t know where to turn for advice they can relate to which is

According to new research out this week informal Carers in the UK are some of the most depressed in Europe.
