1E LAUNCHES NIGHTWATCHMAN IN INDIA
New Delhi, India August 27 2009 – 1E, a leading provider of Windows management software and services designed to reduce costs within the business environment, today announced the launch of NightWatchman for sales in the Indian market.
Already installed across 4 million PCs globally, NightWatchman from 1E is the world leading PC Power Management solution that automatically and remotely schedules the power down of computers within an organisation. It enhances the power management capabilities of a customer’s computer and combines this with an effective scheduling system in a single, easy to use package. Using NightWatchman customers can define company wide power saving policies, schedule machines to wake themselves up or power down, and save documents automatically, ensuring that organizations are able to effectively and efficiently save money within their IT infrastructure.
Speaking at the launch Sumir Karayi, CEO of 1E, commented, “After earning the trust and confidence of over 15 million licensed users across 1,100 businesses in 42 countries worldwide, I am extremely happy to launch the Nightwatchman in India today. We have been working hard to ensure that we solve any problems that our customers, both current and future, may face when trying to manage the power usage of their PC.
He further stated that “India is facing a power shortage of 70,000 megawatt (MW). Indian enterprises are faced with power outages and rapidly escalating energy bills. India is estimated to have over 42 million PCs in offices. Research has shown that cumulatively PCs and monitors consume more electricity than any other information technology – and that 30% to 60% of this energy is wasted. This has been proven true across the world and India is not unique in experiencing this problem”
Now in its fifth generation, NightWatchman uses extremely reliable and proven technology to enable the centralized managed power down of PCs and provides in-depth reporting on energy and cost savings. NightWatchman has sold over 4+ million licenses.
Key features and benefits include:
* Reduces bottom-line energy costs, saves energy and reduces CO2 emissions
* Automatically powers down PCs according to a centrally controlled policy
* Protects unsaved user data prior to shutdown
* Provides fast, detailed reporting on current and potential future savings
* Schedules daily, immediate or one-off shutdowns
* Easily installable and configurable lightweight desktop client
