During his speech, Li Jian, Deputy Director of Civil Aviation Administration of China, pointed out that the founding of Tianjin Aviation fully conforms with China’s overall strategic development plan for the civil aviation industry and that Tianjin Aviation will play a positive role in further improving the network of airline routes across China, diversifying civil aviation products offered by domestic airlines, promoting orderly competition within the industry and facilitating the development of regional aviation services throughout China. Meanwhile, this also marks another significant step by HNA Group towards the goal of the scientific outlook of development and more contribution to the Economic Circle of Bohai Sea Rim. Li also expressed the hope that Tianjin Aviation will persistently observe the business principle of “serving the people and operating for the benefits of people,” provide safe, punctual and convenient airline services to passengers as the priority, perform regular operational safety inspections, fulfill due social responsibilities and strive to grow into a qualified social citizen.
At the ceremony, Tianjin Aviation also launched an activity entitled “60 Most Remarkable People in Tianjin - Son of Haihe River” to select 60 people who had made significant contributions to Tianjin. Mr. Wang Feng, a famous singer, sang a motivating song named Flying Higher, which pushed the celebration to a climax.
On the same day, Tianjin Aviation welcomed its first brand-new aircraft, “Harmony” E190 Aircraft, at Tianjin Binhai International Airport. This served as a gift to China for the motherland’s sixtieth anniversary. Tianjin Aviation also expressed to the whole of society its strong desire to contribute to the construction of a harmonious socialist society.
The registered capital of Tianjin Aviation is RMB1.3 billion, of which HNA Group contributed RMB1.081 billion, accounting for 83.15% of the registered capital, Hainan Airlines Co., Ltd contributed RMB19 million, accounting for 1.47% of the registered capital, and Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone contributed RMB200 million, accounting for 15.38% of the registered capital. Both the headquarters and the operating base of Tianjin Aviation are at Tianjin Binhai International Airport. Its business scope covers domestic sub-line air services for passengers and freight.
The formal founding of Tianjin Aviation indicates that Tianjin’s aviation industry is entering a new stage. On one hand, the history of having no local aviation company in Tianjin is over; the nearly 12 million people of Tianjin now have their own aviation company. On the other hand, the rapidly developing aviation industry chain of Tianjin is gradually improving, capable of various businesses, such as aviation R&D, aviation manufacturing, aerial transport and aviation leasing.
