ALTRINCHAM, England - Maxatec has signed an agreement with SAMMI Information Systems Co Ltd, Korea to distribute its range of SmarTerminal Computers in the UK.
Andrea Percival, director of Maxa Technologies (Maxatec) said: “We are delighted to be working with SAMMI. This really is a strategic move for us as we have been looking to extend our range of mobile computing devices for a while and by signing up with SAMMI we can deliver a much broader offering to our network of resellers in the mobile market. We can link our 35 years of experience in the printer field to SAMMI’s 30+ years in the computer and mobile communications industry.”
Maxatec will concentrate on distributing SAMMI’s SmartTablet (Tablet PC), SmartAT-870 (Rugged HHT) and SmartCompact (Rugged PDA).

The SmartTablet Series, Rugged Tablet PC for mobile computing, is designed to provide true rugged, compact features and wireless computing capabilities including Bluetooth and GPS Technology to highly mobile users in demanding environments. This durable dust and water-resistant device enables the customer to increase productivity and efficiency. In addition, there are convenient SmartTablet Docking stations, which make charging and synchronizing easier than ever in both office and vehicles.
The SmartCompact Series offers the latest generation technologies in a small, integrated package that is ideal for mobile work environments. Mobile workers can enter data by utilizing the integrated keypad or the touch screen (with pop-up keyboard or keypad), while also using automated data capture utilizing the integrated 1D or 2D scanner and 13.56MHz or UHF RFID reader.
These handheld products offer wireless connectivity to the enterprise through industry standard wireless LAN (802.11b/g 2.4GHz) and wide area wireless communications via CDMA and GSM/GPRS networks.
