SAINT-PETERSBURG, Russia, November 25 - Mascom Wireless, the largest mobile operator and market leader in mobile
telecommunications in Botswana, has selected Bercut to supply its Ring Back
Tone solution.
According to results of the tender for the supply of a Ring Back Tone
(RBT) solution, announced by Mascom, Bercut's X-tones was chosen as a
solution to meet Mascom's requirements and provide a service that would
ensure stable and increased revenue.
"Mascom continues to influence the advancement of mobile communications
technology in Botswana, offering subscribers the most up-to-date services in
order to strengthen this position. We have chosen Bercut X-tones for several
reasons," remarked Mascom CEO Jose Vieira Couceiro. "We took into account the
high service level promised by Bercut, which was proved by the references
received from European telecommunications holding companies. The availability
of the branch office in South Africa located close to us played a significant
role as well. In addition we considered that Bercut aims at maximizing
Mascom's revenue from this service and to provide an end-to-end solution that
includes marketing consulting regarding development and management of the RBT
service."
Bercut's expertise in the area of VAS is versatile and Mascom's
choice confirms that, "We can provide the services that boost ARPU growth in
any region of the world, which is proved by successful projects in Eastern
Europe, the Middle East and Africa," remarks Evgeniy Zubakov, the Sales
Development Director at Bercut Ltd.
X-tones is a personalized entertainment service that allows mobile
subscribers to replace the standard Ring Back Tone (RBT) with melodies or
voice messages for incoming and outgoing calls. The estimated additional
revenue to be generated annually by the solution is $1.33 per subscriber.
