BUENOS AIRES, Argentina - The international organization Round Table on Responsible Soy Association (RTRS) will present advances related to the international responsible soy standard in Campinas, Brazil, May 26 and 27
The Round Table on Responsible Soy Association (RTRS) will present advances related to the global standard for responsible soy production, processing and marketing at its IV International Conference in the city of Campinas, Brazil, May 26 and 27.
The meeting will be attended by distinguished international panelists who will analyze responsible soy production and processing as well as those methodologies favoring the best agricultural practices.
Through this initiative the organization aims to examine in greater depth issues such as sustainability in the soy supply chain, tools to finance responsible soy and organizational systems in the value chain.
Over the last 18 months the RTRS and area experts have been working on a draft of the document entitled “Principles and Criteria for Responsible Soy,” whose implementation will bring about the global soy standard. “The advances to be presented at this IV International Conference are the result of an in depth study of the problem worldwide and of consecutive international meetings for its analysis by experts as well as public consultations to which the Principles and Criteria document was subjected,” said Miguel Hernandez, the organization’s Executive Secretary. “We invite all soy stakeholders to participate in this meeting,” Hernandez emphasized.
