On July 24th 2009 during at a truly monumental TV-gala at the Zwentendorf Nuclear Reactor the first SAVE THE WORLD AWARDS, presented by SUPERFUND will honor people and organizations working for a better and more sustainable world. The event’s motto is “HEAL THE WORLD” and is dedicated to the 2002 World Arts Award Laureate Michael Jackson. The TV-special will be broadcast around the world.

Attending the press conference will be: - JERMAINE JACKSON He will accept the SAVE THE WORLD AWARD for his late brother, who is being honored for his many humanitarian and social activities. - ANDIE MACDOWELL The popular Hollywood star will be the host of the gala evening in Zwentendorf. - CARL LEWIS Named by Sports Illustrated the “Athlete of the 20th century” he will receive the SAVE THE WORLD AWARD for the Carl Lewis Foundation, which is providing support and inspiration to underprivileged children, which by giving them opportunities in sport also gives a new perspective in life. - GOTTFRIED HELNWEIN The renowned international artist will present his unique multi-media installation at the Zwentendorf Nuclear Reactor in honor of his close personal friend, Michael Jackson. - BETTY WILLIAMS The Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and 2009 WOMEN’S WORLD AWARD winner will present one of the award winners on stage. - THOMAS HENNINGSEN The Project Director of the Greenpeace Climate Project will accept the SAVE THE WORLD AWARD for his organization’s global activities for the preservation of our planet and its species. - HELMUT KUTIN The President of SOS Children’s Villages International will accept the prize for his organizations global efforts - 132 countries and territories - to give orphans a home, a family and a future. - DR. ERWIN PROLL The Governor of the State of Lower Austria is providing his valuable support to the SAVE THE WORLD AWARDS in many ways, and thereby insuring that this unique event has the ideal location. - CHRISTIAN BAHA The founder and owner of the Superfund Investment Group has been the presenting partner of the WORLD AWARDS since 2005. - GEORG KINDEL The founder and chairman of the WORLD AWARDS established this unique event in 2000 with Nobel Peace Prize winner Mikhail Gorbachev and, in the meantime, it has evolved into one of the most prestigious honors in the world.
