NEW YORK - Hamish Taylor, former CEO of Eurostar Group, will deliver the keynote address at PPI Transport Symposium 18, presented ideas and innovations for the future of forest products logistics.
The International Forest Products Transport Association (IFPTA) and RISI announced today that Mr. Hamish Taylor, former CEO of Eurostar, will deliver the keynote address at PPI Transport Symposium 18, to be held October 6 - 9, 2009 in Liverpool, England. Opening the conference program titled “Steering the Right Course to the Future”, Mr. Taylor will present how companies can improve their position and achieve breakthroughs by looking outside their current environment.

Hamish Taylor served as CEO of Eurostar Group, eliminating major losses and creating a rapid growth in profits from a breakeven position in the preceding years. Prior, Mr. Taylor was the Head of Brand Management for British Airways, taking responsibility for the airline’s passenger brands and playing a role in the growing group of BA franchise partners and Alliances.
In 2004, Mr. Taylor founded the Hamish Taylor Skills Exchange Network and has consulted or spoken for a wide variety of organizations including Microsoft, BAA, RBS, Kimberly Clark, Ernst and Young, and The Economist. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Transport and was the Rail Professional Business Manager of the Year in 1998 for his results at Eurostar.
The PPI TS18 Conference Program will address the challenges and opportunities for the forest products logistics industry as it prepares to emerge from the global recession. Conference sessions will include an industry outlook and forecast, a panel of global paper producers, and a discussion on the role of the logistics company. The program will also feature speakers from industry-leading companies, such as Stora Enso, DB Schenker, Verbrugge Transport, Port of Rotterdam, and Westerlund.
