BRUSSELS - New Social Promotion Enables Shoppers to Benefit From Shipping Discounts That Increase as More People Join
Borderlinx, the cross-border e-commerce solution provider, has launched a new promotion that lets its members save up to 100% of their international shipping costs by joining a new social campaign: the more people take part in the promotion, the more discount each member receives. The offer closes on 30th April 2009 and shipping discounts will be valid until the end of May 2009.

Many US web sites will not accept orders for goods from customers who do not have a US address - but Borderlinx solves this problem. When people join, they receive a US shipping address that they can use to order directly from US web sites, enabling them to shop from any site they wish, including auction sites such as eBay. Borderlinx removes the unpredictability traditionally associated with importing from the US, as it enables shoppers to calculate a ‘fully landed cost’ for their goods, including the shipping from the US to the UK; import duty and VAT. In addition to offering highly competitive shipping costs, Borderlinx also partners with big US brand names to offer additional discounts to its members.
Head of Marketing & Communication at Borderlinx, Cedric Rainotte explains how the new promotion works, “At Borderlinx, we want as many people as possible to benefit from the low prices that are found on US e-commerce sites and to offer savings on shipping into the bargain. We’re encouraging people to make use of all those contacts they have on Facebook, Bebo etc. by getting their friends to join our promotion so that they can all save money when they import from the US. All they have to do is sign up to join the promotion - there is no obligation to buy anything. Discounts start as soon as 500 people join and go on rising - potentially up to 100% - as more people join”.
Note to Editors:
Borderlinx was founded in 2006 and has revolutionised the way people buy and sell across borders. The service is used by consumers and businesses to buy all sorts of products and merchandise from the USA at highly competitive prices and, for electronics in particular, often before the goods are available elsewhere in the world. Many US e-commerce sites will not ship goods to overseas addresses, so Borderlinx provides a US shipping address that lets people order goods from the US from all over the globe. Borderlinx provides:
- A US shipping address that lets consumers shop from almost any US website using their own US Borderlinx delivery address. - Access to goods at US prices, along with special deals and extra savings for Borderlinx members - A proprietary shipping, tax and duty calculator that lets consumers see the full cost of importing goods before they buy - Highly competitive shipping rates - The ability to consolidate multiple goods into one shipment to save on shipping costs - Delivery by DHL to a domestic address of the customer’s choice - The flexibility to choose when goods are delivered
