DRESDEN, Germany - For its success in helping investors set up offices and manufacturing facilities in Germany, Germany Trade & Invest has been recognized for its contribution to the printed electronics industry with the “Printed Electronics Champion” award. This distinction is granted every year by IDTechEx, an analyst firm covering printed electronics and thin film photovoltaics.
The award was presented to an audience of over 270 attendees last night at the Printed Electronics Europe conference, Europe’s largest event in this field. IDTechEx CEO Raghu Das stated, “This award is to recognize the enormous work Germany Trade & Invest has done to advance this industry. Their contribution has had a profound effect on the commercialization of the technology and has resulted in Germany becoming the global leader in this field.”
Oliver Seiler, Director of Mechanical & Electronic Technologies for Germany Trade & Invest was in attendance to accept the award: “It is such an honor for us to receive this award. We are proud to have been recognized for our contribution in this growing field and hope that companies will continue to benefit from the services we offer.”
Printed electronics is a quickly growing field. According to IDTechEx, the market for printed electronics, including organics, inorganics and composites, is expected to increase dramatically in the near future. Currently a USD 1.92 billion market, some estimates expect this industry to grow thirtyfold over the next ten years.
This year’s Printed Electronics Champion Award adds Germany Trade & Invest to a list of past recipients that includes Stuart Evans, former CEO of Plastic Logic, and Wolfgang Mildner, CEO of PolylC.
