LONDON - Company to Support Platform Extension and Product Development
eToro, the fastest growing online financial trading platform, today announced it closed a $6.3 million round of financing with significant investments made by several private equity and VC investors including BRM Group and Cubit Investments.
The online financial trading company which began as a unique and innovative online forex trading (www.etoro.com) platform has achieved all of its original investor goals leading to the successful second round of financing. With an average of 2,000 new accounts opened every month, eToro is growing its staff at a time when most companies are reducing headcount.
“eToro has achieved phenomenal success in the past 18 months which led to this latest round of financing by sticking to our original mission which has always been to bring online financial trading back to the people, empowering users through interesting graphical representations of their trades, education and the free flow of information between our expert and novice users,” stated Jonathon Assia, CEO and co-founder of eToro.
eToro’s trading platform uses a unique and creative approach to online forex and commodities trading that incorporates all of the essential tools, coupled with a highly visual, simple and interactive user interface. A “Game-Changer”, eToro’s platform educates users from their first foreign currency trade until they reach the level of an expert. Unlike other online financial trading platforms that feature a traditional one-view filled with confusing charts and tables, the eToro trading platform features six different “trading arenas” ranging from highly visual beginner to expert arenas.
The company also announced their addition of commodities trading to their users as well as significant additions to their trading methods which will enable traders to conduct more long-term, lower leveraged trades in both the forex and commodities markets.
“This latest round of funding will allow our company to hire additional staff to keep up with the growing demand for our services as well as to extend our current platform into the commodities and stock indexes markets over the next two years,” said Assia. “eToro is more than a platform, it’s an approach that brings online investing to the layperson at a time when many are skeptical of financial institutions they relied upon in the past to manage their money.”
