- Retail Giant Offers Membership to Non-Profit Advocacy Group for Gamers
The Entertainment Consumers Association (ECA), the non-profit membership organization that represents gamers, today announced a new partnership with Target Corporation. Under the terms of the agreement, ECA membership cards are now available for purchase at Target.com online retail stores. Target joins Walmart.com, Amazon.com, and the Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) website as the latest major retailer to offer ECA memberships to their customers. With membership, entertainment consumers can connect with other gamers, stay on top of industry issues and events, explore career and educational opportunities in gaming, voice their feedback on issues and products, and enjoy substantial discounts on games-related purchases and rentals.

“We are thrilled with the opportunity to expand our voice and offer our numerous membership benefits to a broader base of gamers and consumers that shop online at Target,” said Vice President of Marketing Heather Ellertson. “Teaming up with these major retailers will give the ECA an even greater opportunity to speak directly with the steadily increasing number of video game players today.”
To further expand the reach and availability of ECA memberships, the organization has recently hired Al Day as a Sales Consultant. In his new role, Mr. Day will work closely with retailers to form partnerships that will allow ECA membership cards to be offered in stores and online. Mr. Day brings a wealth of consumer electronics industry experience to the ECA from his previous work as a National Key Accounts Manager for Coby Electronics Corp. and as Director of Sales for Memorex Products, Inc.
