MESSINA, Italy -
- Miscela d’Oro - exclusive artisan supplier to top restaurants in top metros - offers espresso connoisseurs whole bean product in new smaller package
After quietly displacing better-known Italian espresso names in restaurants as distinguished as Sistina and Delmonico’s Steak House in New York City, the Quattro Italian restaurant group in Vancouver and Constantino’s Ristorante in Providence, RI, Miscela d’Oro’s master roaster Umberto Urbano is now giving his North American restaurateurs and their customers a way to enjoy Miscela d’Oro’s rare and authentic artisan espresso at home.
“Two things encouraged our family to make the industrial investment required to bring our artisan espresso to North America in quality-controlled smaller format,” says Urbano. “First, North Americans have become very conscious of the value of drinking true Italian espresso, so there’s more appreciation and a basic demand. Second, espresso connoisseurs who meet our coffee in a fine restaurant context want the same freshness at home.”
Miscela d’Oro’s new whole bean espresso blend cans are vacuum sealed and sell locally through a limited number of boutique gourmet grocers in New York City (including Buon Italia and Di Palo Fine Foods), Philadelphia, San Francisco, Phoenix, Providence and Vancouver, and through select specialty coffee e-commerce sites such as EspressoZone.com. Retail pricing ranges between US$9 and US$10 per 250 gram (8.8 oz) can and the product is available beginning in August, 2009.
About Miscela d’Oro
Beginning in 1946, in Messina’s town center on the island of Sicily, the Urbano family has been roasting premium artisan espresso. For three generations, the Urbano’s flavor sensibility has been influenced by the complexities of Sicilian cuisine and the subtlety of great Italian roasting tradition. Today, third generation master roaster Umberto Urbano carefully crafts Miscela d’Oro’s signature flavor to deliver a smooth, rich and naturally sweet espresso crowned by a beautiful crema layer for the perfect presentation and flavor finish.
Available on a limited and exclusive basis through select distribution in North America, Miscela d’Oro offers a distinctive range of food service and limited retail products including whole bean, pre-ground and E.S.E pods options. www.misceladoro.com
