BERLIN - Corning Cable Systems GmbH & Co KG, part of Corning Incorporated’s (NYSE:GLW) Telecommunications segment, will demonstrate its leadership and innovation in local area network (LAN) and data centre solutions at the 2009 DatacenterDynamics Conference, May 27, in Paris.
Corning Cable Systems will showcase its Plug & Play(TM) Universal Systems, a preterminated optical fibre cabling system that streamlines the process of deploying an optical network infrastructure in the data centre environment. Corning Cable Systems Plug & Play Universal Systems are 100G ready and capable of reliably supporting transmission speeds up to 100G with laser-optimized 50 microm multimode fibre (OM3).
The exhibit will also feature Corning Cable Systems Pretium(R) Low-loss OM3 Jumpers with ultra-bendable performance. Enabled by Corning(R) ClearCurve(R) OM3 multimode fibre, the jumpers greatly reduce outages and degradation in systems caused by severe bending problems. As network transmission speeds increase, available margins tighten and become more sensitive to loss associated with a number of factors including bends. Attenuation loss impacts associated with inadvertent macro-bending events may be reduced by more than 50 percent when using Pretium Low-loss OM3 Jumpers with ultra-bendable performance in place of traditional 50 microm jumpers.
The exhibit will also contain:
The FutureCom(TM) EA system and S500 Module which provides a universal generic cabling solution for the use of Ethernet, VoIP, telephone, TV and other services, and is specially designed to support 10 Gigabit Ethernet over 100 meters. FutureCom EA offers high network performance and security with alien cross talk protection that is compliant with the Cat. 6A requirements. It also supports Power over Ethernet and Power over Ethernet Plus.
UniCam(R) Pretium-Performance Connectors, which offer an industry-leading optical performance in a fast, easy field-termination solution.
In addition to the exhibit, Corning’s Nicolas Zerbib, country manager France, will present “Cabling Systems for the Next Generation” on Wednesday, May 27, at 12:40 p.m. in Hall 4 of the Palais des Congres. This presentation will discuss the data centre roadmap to 40/100 Gigabit transmission speeds.
