LONDON - Budding artists aged three to 12 have the chance to ride in style, in a child car seat customised by themselves.
Halfords, the UK leading retailer of travel solutions, has united with the award-winning child car seat manufacturer, Maxi-Cosi, to offer children the chance to design their own car seat cover, and have it made at the company’s factory in Holland.
The competition has three entry categories: 3-5 years of age, 6-7 years, and 8-12 years.
The winner in each category will receive a customised Maxi-Cosi Rodi XR child car seat manufactured with their own cover design. Two runners-up will receive a standard Maxi-Cosi Rodi XR.
Commenting on the competition, Pam Prentice, Campaigns Manager, Child Accident Prevention Trust (CAPT) said: “This competition is a great way to highlight to parents the fact that using car seats for all children under 135 cm (4″5) and under 12 is the law - as well as being safer for children.”
The Maxi-Cosi Rodi XR is suitable for children aged three-and-a-half to 12 years (15-36 kg), to meet UK car seat regulations.
Accredited to European standard ECE R44/04, the Maxi-Cosi Rodi XR is the first seat to make a recline system available to older children. The spacious seat provides plenty of room for the growing child and the sophisticated Side Protection System protects the occupant in the event of a side impact collision.
The standard seat is available in four colours: Black Reflection, Tango Red, Roasted Brown, or Lily Pink, but for the successful designer, the sky’s the limit!
The competition runs until the end of June and an entry form can be downloaded from: www.maxi-cosi.com/halfords or by picking up a leaflet from your local Halfords store.
Sara Cooksley, Product Manager of Halfords, says: “This is a great opportunity for a child to design a car seat that’s truly unique to them, and to win a top quality product that will take them through to their 12th birthday.”
“Maxi-Cosi produces superb child car seats and we have the full range on display at Halfords stores.”
