- XtremeESD(R) Protection, Praetorian(R) EMI Filtering, HDMI(R) and other Interface Protection Solutions Featured
California Micro Devices (Nasdaq: CAMD) will showcase its broad range of protection solutions, including devices for electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection and electromagnetic interference (EMI) filtering at the Embebbed Systems Conference in Boston, Massachusetts on September 22nd and 23rd. These solutions are well suited to a wide range of applications, such as embedded and industrial computing as well as consumer electronics.
The XtremeESD Family
PicoGuard XP(R) provides the industry’s highest level of protection for sensitive high speed ICs, such as USB, where traditional single clamp architectures are no longer effective. PicoGuard XS(R) provides the industry’s best signal integrity with improved ESD protection for extreme high speed data interfaces. PicoGuard XS devices integrate low capacitance diodes with inductors to enable high frequency ESD protection and provide matching impedance without requiring external compensation, and are ideal solutions for ports such as HDMI(R) 1.3 and DisplayPort(TM).
Interface Protection Solutions
CMD provides a wide range of application specific interface protection solutions that integrate ESD protection with analog, logic and EMI filtering. These solutions replace dozens of discrete components while improving performance, reducing board space and overall cost. Application specific interface protection solutions are available for HDMI(R), VGA, USB and CompactPCI.
Praetorian III(R) EMI Filters
Groundbreaking process technology integrates spiral inductors with capacitors and ESD protection diodes in a single chip design, making it ideal for high speed interfaces in mobile handset applications and other portable electronics. Praetorian III technology, with its unique coupled inductor design, offers high levels of inductance and low levels of capacitance to deliver industry leading EMI suppression, excellent signal integrity and robust ESD production in a space efficient, single chip solution.
Featured Session
CMD will deliver a presentation on “ESD Protection Solutions for USB Ports” on Tuesday, September 22 at 11:30am in Room 205.
