LONDON and KUALA LUMPUR - AmBank (M) Berhad (’AmBank’) has strengthened its trade services capabilities with a new trade services solution, provided by Misys International Systems Sdn. Bhd. (’Misys’), a global application software and services company.
This solution is in line with AmBank’s current updating exercise for its trade capabilities and Misys provided the added edge of being able to cater to both conventional and Islamic trade services. AmBank will now also benefit from a more robust back-office trade services solution, a big step ahead over the existing system in meeting the changing requirements of the market and handling the increasing business volumes and new products. The new system, an integrated solution known as Misys Trade Portal and Misys Trade Innovation, will enable AmBank to enhance its offering of trade services to customers and provide them with real business benefits to help drive their business growth.
Dato’ James Lim, Managing Director, Business Banking, AmBank (M) Berhad said, “Trade services are an important part of our growth strategy, both for the conventional and Islamic markets. We chose Misys after a rigorous selection process, with the team at Misys demonstrating the best industry knowledge and market-leading solutions. We are excited about what the new solutions will do for our business, in building relationships with our corporate customers.”
This solution will enable AmBank to offer businesses access to trade services through an internet portal, allowing importers and exporters to connect seamlessly via this platform, by providing better control and visibility in international commercial transactions and consolidating the back-office operations.
Andrew Kukielka, Regional Director Asia Pacific, Misys said, “We are delighted that AmBank has put its trust in us so that it can maximise its fee-based revenue in the current economic climate. Our market-leading solutions will enable AmBank to expand its trade services business to cater for increased volume, strengthen its position in the trade services industry and grow its customer base substantially.”
Misys Trade Services provides more than 190 customers with solutions for all their trade finance and services needs, making it the world’s best-selling trade banking system provider and the leading provider of trade services solutions in Asia.
