NOORDIJK, The Netherlands - Novel Mobile Service AllAroundMe Uses Smart Navigation Technology to Provide Personalised Information on Shopping, Dining and Events - Wherever you are
With its novel mobile phone service AllAroundMe, launched in The Netherlands on 8 June, Dutch company Mobzili provides location-based information on shopping, entertainment, tourism and public transportation by combining satellite and telecommunication technology with the latest and greatest local information. AllAroundMe technology development was supported by the European Space Agency (ESA) Technology Transfer Programme Office through its Business Incubation Centre in Noordwijk, The Netherlands.
Sales in your favourite shop, a good restaurant in the vicinity or a schedule for the nearest bus stop - all of this information is channelled through your profile to adapt the offers to your taste and to your exact location. You will receive the information on the spot. Through cooperation with Uitburo Nederland, Dinnersite, Uitinbrabant and Belbios, AllAroundMe features information on events, activities, public services and shopping.
“With the overwhelming amount of information available and the necessity to have access to it on the spot, it is difficult for customers to find what they want while for organisations it is getting harder to reach the right customers in the right moment and place. Mobzili is the answer,” says Reza Ladchartabi, co-founder of Mobzili.
Boost from ESA space tech support
AllAroundMe combines mobile GPS receiver localisation data with corrective information from local GSM-3G mobile ground networks. “Like this, AllAroundMe can estimate where the user is and provide relevant information,” explains Wojtek Chowanski, developer and co-founder of Mobzili. In the future, AllAroundMe will work with the European navigation satellite system Galileo to provide greater precision. Reared as a start-up in ESA’s Business Incubation Centre, Mobzili benefited from ESA’s unique technical expertise in telecommunications engineering. “ESA gave the technology development a major push; Their experts contributed to AllAroundMe via feasibility analysis and technical advice ,” explains Chowanski.
Mobzili goes European - in near future
The next stage for Mobzili is already in sight. “We plan to make our service available Europe-wide in the near future,” explains Ladchartabi. “But of course worldwide Mobzili coverage is our ultimate goal.”
AllAroundMe is downloadable free of charge at www.allaroundme.eu and runs on mobiles with internet functionality. AllAroundMe freeware for iPhone and Google are currently being developed.
