Over 12,800 functions, more than 4.5 million guests and an unparalleled variety of events: the Estrel Convention Center is celebrating its 10th birthday this year!
Even the opening of the Estrel Convention Center in September 1999 - having been under construction for only eleven months- was a sensation: with a live elephant, symbolic of the size of the new convention centre, in the middle of the 4,700 metre square convention hall. Just a day later, shortly before the official opening gala with a concert by Julio Iglesias, the first major event was held in the Convention Center, attended by 7,500 guests.
The Convention Center is one of the three pillars of “conferences, living and entertainment” of the Estrel Berlin and was the perfect addition to the Estrel Hotel, opened in 1994 and the show theatre Estrel Festival Center, which was incorporated in 1997. With this combination, the Estrel was the first hotel in the history of the German hotel industry to cross the one hundred million Deutschmark turnover mark and is still undisputedly at the forefront of German hotels with the highest turnovers. With its concept of “everything under one roof”, the Estrel has long since made a name for itself internationally, too - above all due to the perfect fusion of conference centre, 4-star plus hotel with 1,125 rooms and suites, and in-house entertainment, which can also be exclusively booked.
