Holocaust museum shooting suspect to face hearing

WASHINGTON — A white supremacist charged with killing a security guard at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum is scheduled to appear in federal court.

If James von Brunn appears, it will be the first time he has been seen publicly since the June shooting.

The 89-year-old was indicted in July on seven counts, including first-degree murder, and has a scheduled hearing Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Washington. But von Brunn, who was shot in the face by guards at the museum, has been hospitalized and not well enough to go to court.

It’s unclear if he’s recovered sufficiently to be in court Wednesday.
