US dollar mostly higher, gold down in Europe

LONDON — The U.S. dollar was mostly higher against other major currencies in European trading Friday morning. Gold fell.

The euro traded at $1.3892, down from $1.4036 late Thursday in New York.

Other dollar rates:

—1.0908 Swiss francs, up from 1.0779

—1.1639 Canadian dollars, up from 1.1612

The British pound was quoted at $1.6264, down from $1.6357.

Gold traded in London at $910.00 per troy ounce, down from $911.75 late Thursday.
