May 4th, 2009 JAMMU - At least 27 people were killed and five injured when the mini bus they were travelling in fell into the Chenab river Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar district Monday morning, police said. The mini bus with a capacity of 20 passengers was carrying over 30 people when it fell almost 500 feet into the river near Bandarkot village, about 240 km from here.

January 15th, 2009 NEW YORK - All 155 people on board a US Airways passenger plane that crashed Thursday into New York's frigid Hudson river were rescued, the head of the airline said. The passengers were able to escape the Airbus 320 through openings in the fuselage, half of which floated above the icy water shortly after the crash, allowing passengers to stand on the nearly submerged wings before rescue ships arrived.

January 3rd, 2009 KATHMANDU - At least two people were confirmed killed and more than 20 missing after a passenger boat capsized on a river in eastern Nepal, officials said Sunday. The boat carrying more than 40 people was crossing the Koshi river when it capsized Sunday morning in Sunsari district, about 400 km southeast of the capital Kathmandu.
