India signs labour deal with BahrainJune 17th, 2009 NEW DELHI - India Wednesday signed a labour agreement with Bahrain that will facilitate better worker mobilisation between the two countries. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) on labour and manpower development was signed by Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi and Bahraini Labour Minister Majeed Bin Muhsin Al Alawi in Bahrain.

Air India to increase Bahrain-Thiruvananthapuram flightsJanuary 18th, 2009 DUBAI - India's national carrier Air India will increase the frequency of flights from Bahrain to Kerala's capital Thiruvananthapuram from once a week to thrice a week effective Jan 23. Indian worker killed in Bahrain worksite mishapJanuary 16th, 2009 DUBAI - An Indian worker in Bahrain was killed after he was hit on the head by a wooden plank that fell from the 20th floor of a building under construction. The 42-year-old worker, Sitaram Muralidhar, was pronounced dead at the Salmaniya Medical Complex where he was rushed immediately after the incident late Jan 11 afternoon, local media reported Saturday.
Plea in court against late-running trainsJanuary 6th, 2009 NEW DELHI - Indian Railways face a legal case for running trains late and putting passengers into trouble. Ramnath Garg, a Delhi resident, has filed a public interest petition in the Delhi High Court who has pointed out that trains running late by several hours put passengers in trouble as they go without food and water for protracted periods of time.
