July 28th, 2009 KOCHI - Infopark Kochi, an IT park promoted by the Kerala government, Tuesday said its exports almost doubled last fiscal to touch Rs.600 crore ($124.5 million). It said in a statement that the companies based in the Infopark campus have hired 2,500 IT professionals in 2007-08, taking their total head count to 9,000.

May 25th, 2009 THIRUVANANTHAPURAM - Companies based in Kerala's Technopark, an IT park here, Monday launched a carpooling website for IT professionals in the state as part of its green computing initiatives. The website, www.parkcarpool.in, was jointly launched by the Group of Technopark Companies (GTECH), a body representing the chief executives of the Technopark firms, and Palnar Transmedia, a city-based software firm.

March 19th, 2009 THIRUVANANTHAPURAM - The global economic slowdown has taken its toll on the IT companies in Kerala, with some cutting salaries, while some others have already having informed stakeholders that they have no option but to cut operating costs. The IT sector in the state has reached an annual turnover of around Rs.1,500 crore (Rs.15 billion/$300 million), providing direct employment to 60,000 people, of which close to 30,000 are employed at the various Technopark campus here and Infopark campus at Kochi.
