Six killed in road accident in Jharkhand

September 29th, 2009 RANCHI - Five people died and 16 were injured when the bus they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell into a wide ditch Tuesday morning in Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand, police said. The bus skidded off the road as the driver lost control of the vehicle and it fell in a ditch in Banhi village of Hazaribagh district, around 110 km from here.

September 3rd, 2009 RANCHI - Six people were killed and 20 injured when the bus they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell into a ditch in Gumla district of Jharkhand Thursday afternoon, police said. According to police, the bus had nearly 40 passengers when it went off the road while passing over a culvert at Baghima village, around 145 km here.

August 19th, 2009 ISLAMABAD - At least 16 people, including four children, were killed Wednesday when the passenger bus in which they were travelling veered off the road and fell into a gorge in northwest Pakistan, TV reports said. The accident occurred in the Mansehra area.

August 17th, 2009 ANANTAPUR - Six persons were killed and ten others injured in a road accident in Andhra Pradesh's Anantapur district late on Sunday night. According to police, accident took place at around 11:00 p.m.

April 29th, 2009 RANCHI - At least eight people were killed and 20 injured when a bus carrying a marriage party drove off a precipice in Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand Wednesday, police said. The bus carrying 30 people fell off the road in the Maldih valley of Hazaribagh, about 130 km from state capital Ranchi, when the driver lost control over the vehicle.

April 28th, 2009 RANCHI - Eleven people, all of whom were either going for or coming back from a wedding, died in three separate road accidents in Jharkhand, police said Tuesday. Five members of a marriage party died in Gumla district when the jeep they were travelling in collided with a tractor near Jura village, around 140 km from here, early Tuesday morning, a police official said.

April 20th, 2009 PUNE - At least 19 people were killed and more than 15 others were injured in a road accident that took place around 40 kilometres off Pune on Monday. Among those killed in the accident, six were women and eight were children.

March 19th, 2009 RANCHI - Five people were killed and three injured when a truck and Jeep collided in Jharkhand's Ramgarh district Thursday, police said. A Jeep carrying around 12 passengers collided with a truck near Giddi Chumba in Ramgarh district, about 70 km from here.

March 3rd, 2009 RANCHI - At least nine people were killed and 15 injured when a tractor carrying a marriage party hit a bus here, police said Tuesday. The tractor carrying around 25 people to Irba village after a wedding here hit the bus near Bahu Bazar late Monday.

February 27th, 2009 RANCHI - At least 15 people were killed and 30 more were injured when a bus fell into a valley in Latehar district of Jharkhand Thursday, police said. 'A bus was going to Daltanganj from Mahutand of Latehar district.

February 14th, 2009 RANCHI - The Jharkhand police foiled a huge blast in Khuti district of the state, recovering 40 kg of improvised explosive device (IED) planted on a road, the police said Sunday. According to the police, a police team on a long-range patrol Saturday night, got a tip off that a 'landmine' had been planted on the road between Barnghada and Kurkud in Khuti district, around 70 km from Ranchi.

February 2nd, 2009 RANCHI - At least four people were killed and two injured when a speeding truck ran over them in Dhanbad district of Jharkhand Tuesday, a police officer said. The accident took place when the six people were trying to cross the road at Grand Trank (GT) road situated near Govindpur block of Dhanbad district, around 240 km from here.

January 26th, 2009 INDORE - At least nine people were killed and four injured in a road accident near Indore in Madhya Pradesh late Tuesday evening, police said. 'The accident took place around 8.30 p.m.

January 20th, 2009 URUMQI - Five people were killed and 14 others injured Wednesday in a road accident in China's northwestern Xinjiang Uygur region, officials said. The accident occurred at 1.05 p.m.

January 4th, 2009 GUIYANG - At least 13 people were killed Monday when a passenger bus veered off the road and fell into a ravine in China's southwestern Guizhou Province, officials said. There were 44 people on board the bus at the time of the accident that took place at about 7 a.m.
