Six dead in Pakistan blast

October 5th, 2009 ISLAMABAD - A blast ripped through the UN World Food Programme (WFP) office here Monday, leaving at least one person dead and three people injured. The dead person was reportedly a foreigner, Geo TV said.

October 5th, 2009 ISLAMABAD - A foreigner and a Pakistani woman were killed Monday when a blast tore through the UN World Food Programme (WFP) office, close to President Asif Ali Zardari's private residence, in an upscale locality of this Pakistan capital. Bin Yamin, deputy inspector general (operations), said: "We moved six wounded people to hospital and two of them are dead." Two foreigners were amongst those injured.

September 19th, 2009 ISLAMABAD - The toll in a suicide blast in northwest Pakistan Friday mounted to 39 as six more bodies were recovered, media reports Saturday said. According to Kohat police, 150 kg of explosives were exploded by a bomber who rammed his explosives-filled vehicle in roadside markets in Kohat district Friday, leaving at least 39 people dead and 54 injured, GEO News TV channel reported.

The blast occurred when the mosque in the Hayagai Sharqi area of the Upper Dir district was packed with worshippers gathered for Friday prayers.
