Seven students injured in truck-school van collision in Delhi

November 7th, 2009 NEW DELHI - Seven students of Delhi Public School on Mathura Road were injured Saturday when a speeding truck jumped traffic signal and rammed into a school van in north Delhi, police said. Eyewitnesses said the accident took place around 8 a.m.

May 20th, 2009 JALANDHAR - Three children and the driver taking them to school were killed Wednesday morning when their bus collided with passenger train at an unmanned railway crossing in Punjab's Jalandhar district. Fifteen children were also injured when the Akal Academy School bus that had picked up the students from their homes and was on its way to school met with the accident near Gumtala village near Jalandhar.

March 20th, 2009 NEW DELHI - Ten students of a Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) school here suffered injuries after being beaten by their teacher for making noise in the classroom. The students of Class 3 in the MCD school, New Ashok Nagar, in east Delhi were beaten with a cane by Raj Kumar Wednesday, a police officer said.

March 9th, 2009 NEW DELHI - A man was killed and 21 people suffered injuries Sunday when a speeding Blueline bus caught fire after a head-on collision with a loaded dumper-truck in the heart of the capital, the police said. The Blueline bus, operating on route number 502 between Old Delhi Railway Station and Mehrauli, collided with the dumper-truck on the Tilak Marg near the Supreme Court around 5.15 a.m.

March 6th, 2009 NEW DELHI - An 11-year-old schoolgirl was crushed to death and three students were injured Thursday when a speeding mini truck hit them in northeast Delhi, the police said. Meena, a Class 4 student, was knocked down while her two sisters Savita and Suman - both students of Class 2 - and one of their friends were seriously injured when they were returning from their state-run school in Gokulpuri area around 1 p.m., the police said.

December 29th, 2008 NAGPUR - A 14-year-old student was killed and 13 others were injured when a speeding truck rammed into a school classroom in a crowded city area Tuesday, a police official said. The accident occurred shortly after noon when the truck driver lost control over the vehicle and crashed into a classroom of Prakash Agriculture School in east Nagpur's Pardi locality, according to the official.

December 28th, 2008 GREATER NOIDA - Two bikers were killed here after their motorcycles were involved in a head on collision, the police said Monday. The accident, according to police, occurred in Greater Noida's Dadri town at about 9.30 p.m.
