Sensex opens higher, up 0.82 percent in early trade

The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) opened higher at 17,117.9 points and, five minutes into trade, was at 17,172.78, 146.11 points or 0.86 percent higher than its previous close at 17,026.67.

October 11th, 2009 MUMBAI - A key Indian equities market index opened in the green Monday and within five minutes had moved up 85 points higher than its previous close. The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) opened higher at 16,687.32 points and, five minutes into trade, was at 16,728.4 points, 85.74 points or 0.52 percent higher than its previous close at 16,642.66 points.

October 6th, 2009 MUMBAI - A key Indian equities market index opened on a firm note Wednesday and was ruling 122 points higher than its previous close, about five minutes into trade. September 17th, 2009 MUMBAI - A key index of the Indian equities markets, which zoomed over 134 points in early trades, shed most of its gains Thursday afternoon to trade 42 higher than its previous close. At 2.04 p.m., the sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened higher at 16,686.38 points, was up 41.97 points or 0.25 percent at 16,719.01 points.
