A survey conducted regarding the surprise resignation of Gov. Sarah Palin spurned up strong reactions from the citizens of Alaska. Palin, who is supposed to resign at the end of this month in order to focus on 2012 presidential bid announced that she will be stepping down from the post of Governor, reportedly expressed her frustration regarding her role as a Governor.

At a news conference on Friday, Palin said, “We have got to put first things first. I love my job and I love Alaska. I am doing what is best for Alaska.” Palin reportedly stated that she had decided against contesting for the post of Alaska’s Governor and believed that it was the best time for her to come up with the decision. The decision shocked the entire nation as she had two more years to serve her term in the post of the Governor. According to sources, Palin believes that she could be more effective and can serve Alaska in the best possible way while working outside the Governor’s office.

Palin, referring to the alleged impact of multiple complaints against her said, “I cannot stand here as your governor and allow millions of dollars and all that time go to waste just so I can hold the title of the governor.
The Republican will formally step down from her office on July 26. Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell, a Republican is supposed to succeed her.

Pam Pryor, a spokeswoman for Palin’s political action committee, SarahPAC said the group will continue to accept donations on its website. The resignation of Palin infuriated many as they felt that she should have finished her two year term of service that was pending.
