Have a complaint about British tourists, too
They do not wash their hands before sitting down
to eat or take off street shoes before entering
the room, like most Asians do.
West did learn some personal hygiene from the Orient
some time ago, but somehow missed these two important habits. Leading to plague epidemics in the
Dark Age and turning London into the swine-flu
capital of the world in the 21st century

I am not sure that my worst experience is with Russian tourists, but with Russian-American tourists. For 7 years we have been subjected to obnoxious behavior by fellow tourists who are Russian-Americans visiting Mexico. They are generally late 30’s to early 60’s, treat the natives (hello we are the visitors) like slaves, treat other guests (equal) as non-existent, are demanding, disobey rules (Rule No. 1 - do not reserve loungers), and let their children cause chaos. Our wonderful Mexican hosts thought these people had such bad lives in Russian that it accounted for their miserable behavior, but most of the offenders were born in the US and their parents or grandparents were native Russians. They are perfectly aware of what they are doing because once they leave the area where they feel “safe,” they are more cautious about offending others, and once they land in the US, they do not misbehave because they know no one in the US is going to put up with their crap. They are so bad that for the first time in 8 years, we are vacationing elsewhere because we refuse to allow them to ruin another vacation. They give fellow Americans AND Russians a bad name. I am waiting for the hosting countries to put them in their place, which should be that of a grateful guest.
