Regions Financial names President, COO
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Regions Financial Corp. said Thursday it has named a board member to the newly created position of chief operating officer as part of a corporate succession plan.
Board vice chairman O.B. Grayson Hall Jr., 52, was appointed president and chief operating officer of the bank holding company.
He is head of Regions’ General Banking Group, which includes the company’s four geographic regions covering 16 states as well as operations and technology and the Morgan Keegan & Co. subsidiary.
Hall is a 29-year veteran o4515f the company. He joined the board in December 2008.
Dowd Ritter, 62, remains chairman and chief executive officer. The company has a mandatory retirement age of 65.
“This is the logical next step in establishing a clear management succession plan, further strengthens our corporate governance, and positions the company well for growth in the years to come,” Ritter said.
Regions has 1,900 banking offices in 16 states across the South, Midwest and Texas.
