Ram Sene Chief Mutalik’s judicial custody ends today

July 25th, 2009 MYSORE - The Sessions Court in Mysore on Saturday denied bail to the Sriram Sene Chief Pramod Mutalik and sent him to judicial custody till July 28 for allegedly making inflammatory speech at Kyathamaranahalli, a Mysore suburb, in April this year. Mutalik, who had visited Kyathamaranahalli after the communal clashes in April, had allegedly addressed a gathering of local residents in the locality.

"Muthalik had come to visit the Kyatharamanhalli suburb, where group clashes took place this week," Mysore police said, adding that the prohibitory orders had been imposed in the area under Section 144.

April 4th, 2009 CHENNAI - Sri Ram Sene founder Pramod Muthalik on Saturday ruled out supporting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming general elections, saying the saffron party was using Hindutva only to come to power. April 1st, 2009 AHMEDABAD - The police custody of former Gujarat Minister of State for Women's Welfare, Mayaben Kodnani, and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader, Jaideep Patel, ends today. On March 29, Kodnani and Patel were remanded in police custody till today by a local court in connection with the 2002 post-Godhra riots case.
