Rajya Sabha adjourned for day over Joshi arrest

August 7th, 2009 NEW DELHI - The Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha were adjourned sine die on Friday concluding the first, month long session of the newly constituted House. Friday was the concluding day of the ongoing budget session of the 15th Lok Sabha, which began on July 2 with the presentation of the Economic Survey, followed by the Railway Budget on July 3 and the General Budget on July 6.

"On the security of the leaders, there will be no compromise," Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, who is also the leader of the house, said in the Lok Sabha.

Members of Uttar Pradesh's ruling Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) raised slogans against the Congress and rushed to the well of the house.
