President to address joint sitting of Parliament today

July 27th, 2009 NEW DELHI - Members of Parliament of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance would submit a memorandum to President Pratibha Patil on Tuesday to draw her attention on the controversial joint statement with Pakistan issued in Sharm-el-Sheikh in Egypt and some other issues. "All NDA MPs will march to the Rashtrapati Bhavan from Raisina Hill to hand over a memorandum to the President," BJP Deputy Leader in the Lok Sabha, Sushma Swaraj, told media in the capital on Monday.

July 25th, 2009 NEW DELHI - Refuting the reports of differences between the government and the Congress Party over Indo-Pak joint statement, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said on Saturday that they are only the creation of the media. Singh's statement came a day after the Congress Core Committee decided to robustly support the his diplomatic initiative on Pakistan and counter the criticism of the opposition parties.
