One killed in Peshawar blast

October 15th, 2009 ISLAMABAD - An explosion took place in Pakistani city of Peshawar Thursday afternoon, a media report said. According to police sources, the blast occurred near Gulshan Rehman Colony situated at Kohat Road in Peshawar, Geo TV reported.

October 9th, 2009 PESHAWAR - At least 10 people were killed and about 40 injured Friday in a bomb blast that ripped through a bustling market in this Pakistani city. The explosion occurred around noon at the Karachi Bazaar, close to the North West Frontier Province (NWFP) assembly.

August 24th, 2009 PESHAWAR - The Peshawar Police has registered a case against an outlawed outfit of the Khyber Agency, Lashkar-e-Islam, for killing three persons and injuring 15 in Momin Town in a suicide bomb attack. Four persons, including the suicide bomber, were killed in Peshawar.

July 20th, 2009 PESHAWAR - At least five security personnel were killed in an ambush and in a roadside bomb attack in Peshawar and Bannu on Monday. Four security personnel were killed on the outskirts of Peshawar from multiple bullet wounds.

July 8th, 2009 PESHAWAR - One person was killed and several others were wounded in a suicide blast here on Wednesday. Eyewitnesses said the blast, which took place near the Police Colony in Chungi Bazaar of the city, was trigerred by a suicide bomber who was dragging a vendor cart loaded with explosives.

June 11th, 2009 ISLAMABAD - The United States has handed over four MI-17 cargo helicopters to the Pakistan Army to facilitate its counter-terrorism operation. "On a request by the Government of Pakistan, the United States delivered four MI-17 cargo helicopters to the Pakistani Army," US embassy spokesman Lou Finor said here.
