One killed in accident on Noida expressway

September 11th, 2009 NOIDA - A student of Amity University was killed Friday when the car he was travelling in was hit by a heavy vehicle on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, police said. According to police, Gurinder Singh, a second year engineering student, was with two other students in the car when it was hit by the heavy vehicle at 8.00 a.m.

July 23rd, 2009 NOIDA - Two business executives were killed when their motorcycle collided with a speeding car whose driver was allegedly drunk, police said Thursday. The accident occurred late Wednesday night at the Sector 10-12 crossing in Noida.

June 19th, 2009 NOIDA - Two students in their early 20s were killed when a water tanker hit their motorcycle here Friday afternoon, police said. Ravindra Yadav and Pankaj Yadav were coming from Sector-60 towards Mamura crossing when a water tanker hit their motorcycle, police added.

May 28th, 2009 NOIDA - Seven people including three policemen were killed and 11 others critically injured when a small truck ran over them on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, police said Thursday. The accident occurred late Wednesday when about a dozen policemen and some other people were trying to clear two vehicles from the expressway, that had met with an accident earlier.

April 24th, 2009 NOIDA - Three people were killed and five injured in four separate accidents in Noida since Thursday night, police said Friday. In the first accident, an executive in a private firm was killed while his friend was critically injured in an accident near the Film City Thursday night.

March 31st, 2009 GREATER NOIDA - Two people were killed here Tuesday when a vehicle they were travelling in collided head-on with another, the police said. The accident occurred near Jhajar town of Greater Noida on the Kakor-Jewar road.

March 23rd, 2009 GREATER NOIDA - Three woman were killed and 19 other people were injured Sunday when a speeding car crashed into a mini-truck moving ahead of it on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, the police said. The accident occurred around 4.00 p.m.

March 20th, 2009 HARBIN - At least 19 people were killed Thursday when a passenger bus rammed into a stationary truck from behind in China's northeastern province of Heilongjiang, an official said. The bus was carrying 41 people at the time of the accident around 5.45 p.m.

March 14th, 2009 NOIDA - A sanitation worker was killed Friday when he came under the wheels of a speeding van here, the police said. Sunil Kumar was crushed by the Tata 407 van at the Morna Crossing in Sector-58 of this satellite city of Delhi early morning, a police official said.

March 9th, 2009 GREATER NOIDA - Three youths, related to each other, were crushed under the wheels of a mini-truck here Sunday, the police said. The accident occurred Sunday noon near Badhpura Bridge on GT road in Dadri, the police said.

January 20th, 2009 MATHURA - One man was killed here when the police fired at farmers protesting against inadequate compensation paid to them for land acquired from them to build the Yamuna Expressway. The Uttar Pradesh Police said Tuesday evening that 18 people were also injured in the firing.

January 6th, 2009 NOIDA - At least three people were killed and four others injured in two separate accidents near here Wednesday, the police said. In the first accident, two people travelling in an autorickshaw which was coming from Vijay Nagar to Noida, were killed and four others injured after the autorickshaw was hit by a State Roadways bus around 12 a.m.

January 1st, 2009 NOIDA - Dense fog in Noida and on the expressway led to several accidents Friday, in which two men were killed and many others injured, the police said. Santosh, a native of Gorakhpur, was killed and Subhash critically injured when their motorcycle was hit by a speeding car near the sector 34 traffic signal in Noida.

December 28th, 2008 GREATER NOIDA - Two bikers were killed here after their motorcycles were involved in a head on collision, the police said Monday. The accident, according to police, occurred in Greater Noida's Dadri town at about 9.30 p.m.

December 23rd, 2008 NEW DELHI - Reliance Infrastructure, an Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG) company, is a sole bidder for a Rs.26.76-billion (Rs.2,676-crore) greenfield expressway project in the national capital region, the company said Wednesday. 'The company emerged as the sole bidder for 135 kilometres greenfield Eastern Peripheral Expressway project, covering Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh on build, operate and transfer (BOT) basis, in spite of two extensions from NHAI (National Highway Authority of India),' it said in a statement.
