OH high school’s graduation canceled over cheating

CENTERBURG, Ohio — An Ohio school district that canceled its graduation ceremony after a senior cheating scandal says it’s investigating whether underclassmen also cheated.

John Morgan, principal of Centerburg High School northeast of Columbus, says he learned Friday that students in other grades may also have received copies of tests in advance.

Centerburg schools announced the cancellation of Saturday’s graduation ceremonies following an emergency meeting of the education board.

Superintendent Dorothy Holden says the district had to take a stand and let students know that cheating can’t be tolerated. She says she’s alarmed and sickened by the episode.
