July 24th, 2009 LUCKNOW - The district magistrate of Lakhimpur-Kheri in Uttar Pradesh has decided to impose entertainment tax, which is normally applicable for amusement parks, on the Dudhwa National Park, officials said here Friday. In a letter sent to the national park's director last week, the district magistrate not only sought to know the revenue earned by the park over the past four years but also raised a demand for payment of 30 percent of that amount as entertainment tax.

June 16th, 2009 NEW DELHI - A group of robbers Tuesday barged into a south Delhi home, tied its occupants - a 70-year-old man, his wife, 65, and two domestic helps - with ropes and decamped with Rs.800,000 in cash and jewellery worth Rs.1 million, police said. The robbers, one of them masked, scaled the walls of Bala Ram's Chhattarpur house around 2 a.m., police said, adding that they suspect an insider's hand behind the heist as the robbers "knew the house in and out".
